August 2020 - 118,772 properties came onto the market for rent in the UK at an average asking rent of £1,362 per month
August 2021 - 98,610 properties came onto the market for rent in the UK at an average asking rent of £1,375 per month
August 2022 - properties came onto the market for rent in the UK at an average asking rent of £1,545 per month
Take away from this data -
1. A 12.36% increase in average rent between 2021 and 2022
2. In 2020, exactly 50% of all UK homes were £1,000 per month or less, yet by 2022 that had reduced to 43.3%
3. The £5,000+ a month rental market has doubled in two years
